STYLE ICON G-DRAGON AND GUILDED ARMOR METALLIC

So.  I'm not going to introduce myself.  EDGE Collections designers Phoebe and Carl have inexplicably given me permission to hijack their blog for now, to give a non-designer's point of view on current trends in pop culture that are relevant to their designs.

Well that, and I'm allowed to ramble about whatever I'd like...which brings me to this guy:

This is G-Dragon, Korean style and pop culture icon, and member of BIGBANG. For a brief low-down of who he is, check out this article on Buzzfeed:

There's a reason why fashion design houses from Chanel to Kenzo to Marc Jacobs had G-Dragon and fellow band member Taeyang sitting front row at their shows.

You're probably thinking: "So how is this relevant to EDGE Collections?" Take a glance at the EDGE installation photos below. The first one is Guilded Armor Metallic, an installation EDGE did for Haven in Atlantic City. The second photo was taken for the Elle Decor show house in Miami Beach, you're looking at Marrakesh Sequin Blue on Gold Metallic paper.

...which brings me back to G-Dragon. If there was ever a style match made in heaven, it would be this one. Rich, luxe fabrics, bold patterns and a swag-tastic attitude, and there you have it.
